KUALA LUMPUR: The Housing and Local Government Ministry is awaiting the Finance Ministry's approval to procure the RM14.39 million Semporna Fire and Rescue Station quarters reconstruction project through open tender.
Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said the project had been re-tendered for the appointment of a contractor to complete the stalled works.
He said the ministry had also submitted an Electronic Government Procurement Application (EGPA) to the Finance Ministry seeking approval to procure the project through open tender and an exemption from the requirement for a completion contractor's certificate.
"A decision is expected on Oct 12.
"The ministry expects the Letter of Acceptance to be issued in December this year," he said when winding up the debate on the Auditor-General's Report concerning his ministry in the Dewan Rakyat.
