BATU PAHAT: A two-year-old girl who was attacked by five stray dogs in Kampung Tambak, Peserai, last month has undergone three surgeries and will require several more procedures before she can be discharged from hospital.

Nur Haira Wafiqah is currently warded at the Paediatric Special Surgery Ward of Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA), Johor Baru, where she is under the close supervision of seven specialist doctors, her father said.

Mohammad Hamizi Hamdan, 37, said the first three surgeries involved treating and closing wounds on various parts of his daughter's body and head caused by the animal bites.

"The wounds on my daughter's legs, arms and body have started to heal, but the injuries to her head still require intensive treatment.
