PETALING JAYA: Trust will emerge as the next major test for Malaysia’s 5G networks, as the country moves beyond basic rollout and coverage towards greater enterprise and industrial use, an analyst says.

This comes as Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) enters the next phase of its 5G development, backed by RM5.2 billion in financing and a new spectrum assignment that took effect on Oct 1.

Having already surpassed 80% coverage of populated areas in July, DNB this month activated its new 3.3–3.4 GHz spectrum (known as F-Zero), effectively doubling its network capacity and enabling support for 5G-Advanced and AI-driven capabilities.
