KUALA LUMPUR: Two Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers and a former colleague, who were acquitted of robbing a Chinese businessman of nearly RM1 million in 2021, have been ordered to enter their defence.
The High Court today allowed the prosecution's appeal against the acquittal of Muhamad Haffiz Mohd Radzi, Mohd Fahmee Mohamad Nor and Azwan Asli.
Judge Datuk Mohd Arief Emran Arifin ruled that the Sessions Court had erred in law and fact in finding that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against the trio.
During the hearing, Arief questioned the legitimacy of the purported MACC investigation that allegedly led to the seizure of cash and other belongings from Chinese businessman Kun Gao.
