KUALA LUMPUR: The government will defer National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan repayments next year for borrowers earning RM2,500 or less a month, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced when ta2027 Budget: PTPTN repayments deferred for low-income borrowersbling the 2027 Budget.
Borrowers earning between RM2,500 and RM3,000 a month will be required to make minimum monthly repayments of RM50, he said.
The measure is expected to benefit more than 400,000 PTPTN borrowers.
Anwar said students must also have access to food assistance.
