PETALING JAYA: The government has decided to waive the imposition of entertainment duty for arts, cultural, entertainment and sports events held at the National Stadium and Stadium Merdeka.

In tabling the 2027 budget, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim thanked Permodalan Nasional Bhd for helping with the rehabilitation of both iconic stadiums.

He added that the duty exemption was aimed at reinvigorating the heritage arts scene in the capital city.

Anwar also announced that City Hall will allocate RM400 million to set up 120 acres of new green areas in Kuala Lumpur, rehabilitate existing parks and upgrade various facilities and affordable housing projects under the council.
