RM1,500 special aid for 1.3mil civil servants

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the government will provide a special financial assistance of RM1,500 to 1.3 million civil servants in recognition of their contribution to the nation.KUALA LUMPUR: The government will provide a special financial assistance of RM1,500 to 1.3 million civil servants in Grade Utama B and below, including contract employees, next year.

The assistance is in recognition of civil servants' contributions, said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim when tabling the 2027 budget today.

"The payments will be made in two instalments, with the first before Hari Raya Aidilfitri and the second in the lead-up to the 70th anniversary of Merdeka," he said.

Anwar also said more than one million government pensioners will receive RM750 each, including retired and non-pensionable veterans.
