KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9: Kuching is set to get a new dental specialist centre under Budget 2027, as the government plans to build nine new healthcare facilities nationwide to strengthen public healthcare services.

Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, when tabling Budget 2027 at Dewan Rakyat today, said the planned facilities also include a specialist clinic and day treatment complex at Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johor, an integrated health complex in Gerik, Perak, and another in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan.

The government has also allocated RM1.2 billion to maintain and repair public hospitals and clinics, including upgrading the remaining dilapidated clinics.

To speed up diagnosis and treatment, more than RM770 million will be provided to procure advanced and modern medical equipment.
