PUTRAJAYA: The 2027 Budget represents a "waad" (covenant) or pledge between the nation, its leaders and the people, which must be fulfilled with integrity, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.
Anwar, who is also finance minister, said the 2027 Budget, the fifth under the unity government, was drawn up by a large team from the Finance Ministry and other ministries, taking into account the needs of various segments of society, from driving economic growth to addressing issues involving employment, wages and minimum income.
"We want to encourage all Malaysians from various walks of life to remember that this budget is not merely about managing finances, but must be a collective agreement bound by a covenant.
