PUTRAJAYA: The government will continue to prioritise prudent fiscal management under the 2027 Budget to channel savings back to the people and ease cost-of-living pressures, particularly among lower-income groups.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said savings generated through improved governance and efforts to curb leakages would be channelled back to the people, as the government sought to strengthen the country's finances without compromising assistance for those in need.
Anwar, who is also finance minister, said that although Malaysia's inflation rate was around two per cent, among the lowest in the world, people continued to feel cost-of-living pressures due to rising prices of certain goods and services.
