KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has formed a special task force to review and reexamine allegations of corruption involving RM350,000 linked to a senior officer of the commission.

MACC said the matter had been investigated in 2018 but the case was closed as no offence was proven then.

However, following calls for action and the renewed circulation of the claims, MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman ordered the immediate establishment of the special task force.

"This measure was taken to ensure that the MACC's integrity is upheld and to maintain public confidence in the commission," MACC said in a statement.
