PETALING JAYA: Negri Sembilan Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Jalaluddin Alias has denied plans to submit a motion of no confidence against Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim at the upcoming state legislative assembly sitting.
"Allegations that we want to bring a vote of no confidence against the menteri besar are simply not true," he said.
The denial follows media reports quoting sources claiming Negri Sembilan Umno was considering the motion, subject to approval from the party's central leadership.
The Negri Sembilan assembly sitting is scheduled for Nov 26, after being postponed from Oct 16 to align with the presentation of the state's 2027 Budget the following day.
