Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's political secretary Azman Abidin said he would take on the responsibility of representing Pakatan Harapan in the Melaka state election.PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's political secretary Azman Abidin has confirmed he will be contesting the Paya Rumput state seat in the upcoming Melaka state election.
Azman said he would take responsibility and accept PKR's decision regarding his candidacy representing Pakatan Harapan (PH).
This puts to rest speculation that Azman, who is also a member of PKR's central leadership council, would be contesting in the election.
In the 2021 state election, the Paya Rumput seat was won by Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Rais Yasin with a 629-vote majority.
