KUALA LUMPUR: Steven Gerrard rolled back the years with a stunning hat-trick, scoring with the final kick of the match to seal a 7-6 victory for AllStar Premier Legends over AllStar World Legends at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) on Saturday.
The former Liverpool captain's dramatic winner capped a 13-goal thriller.
With the score locked at 6-6 in the dying seconds after the World Legends had fought back to level, Gerrard seized possession on the edge of the box, and unleashed a powerful drive into the net as the final whistle sounded.
Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Mordi Bimol and AFC general-secretary Datuk Seri Windsor John were among those in attendance.
"Of course, I'm happy, and even happier when I see the crowd enjoying the match so much," said Mordi.
