KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian youth must master emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), to ensure the country keeps pace with rapid global change, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.
He said mastering new technologies could reshape the way young people think, live and participate in the economy of the future.
"When it comes to AI, you are probably more knowledgeable than I am. I do not have to ask because I know my own understanding is limited.
"But what I want to stress, as a father, is that we must uphold our values. At an international forum in Shanghai recently with the Chinese premier, I said that we must master AI.
"If we do not, AI will master us. So, we must give our young people the space to seriously master this knowledge," he said at the 2026 Youth Economic Forum at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today.
