KUALA LUMPUR: Jorge Martin, who lost the championship lead to Marc Marquez at Phillip Island, is in a race against time to be fit for the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia which starts on Friday.
Aprilia Racing team manager Paolo Bonora said that Martin's injury is not as bad as initially feared and the team is "working" to get him fit in time for Sepang.
Martin crashed while duelling with Marquez (Ducati Lenovo) during the sprint race at Phillip Island on Saturday.
"He was in attack mode and there were many overtakes, he showed that he has very good race pace (during sprint race)," Bonora told MotoGP.
