SEPANG: The Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is unlikely to be called upon as a replacement venue if the Qatar MotoGP race is cancelled or disrupted amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

SIC chief executive officer Azhan Shafriman Hanif said no discussions had been held over the possibility, with several factors, including costs, scheduling and government approval, standing in the way.

The fate of the Qatar GP, which is currently scheduled for Nov 6-8, remains in doubt due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The event was originally scheduled to be held on April 10-12 but was postponed to its current dates earlier this year.
