KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah will receive the largest development allocation in 2027, followed by Sarawak, based on their geographical challenges, development needs and infrastructure gaps.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government considered factors such as vast rural areas, underdeveloped regions and inadequate basic facilities when distributing development funds.
"For Sabah, although its population is relatively small, the development allocation given to the state is among the largest in the country for next year.
"Does it meet all its needs? No. But we take into account geographical factors, rural areas, several underdeveloped areas and infrastructure that remains inadequate.
