GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Island City Council (MBPP) had advised the consultant for the development project linked to Sunday's fatal landslide to take slope safety precautions in August.
Mayor Datuk A. Rajendran said the council had advised the project consultant following a site visit that month.
"We advised the consultant in August after a site visit and followed up with a letter on the measures that need to be taken at the site.
"They have put in place whatever measures required of them," he said when contacted.
