SHAH ALAM: The service status of Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain at the Malaysia Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA) has been referred to the Attorney-General's Chambers (A-GC) for legal advice.

The referral comes before any decision on whether to terminate or shorten his two-year tenure, which would require the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's consent.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail said the matter had also been referred to the Police Force Commission for further action.

Khalid said Shuhaily's assignment at MCBA was based on a two-year cadre secondment contract from the police, which had received the King's consent.
