PARLIAMENT | RSN Rayer (Harapan-Jelutong) reiterated his call for Putrajaya to publish reading material on the late PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, among others, to counter supposedly divisive sentiments spread by certain quarters.

Speaking in the Dewan Rakyat today, the DAP MP said the publication of such books, magazines, or articles on past leaders can be used to educate youths on national unity.

Rayer (above) argued that such efforts are necessary to negate those who “stoke racial sentiments,” with the backbencher naming controversial Muslim preachers Ridhuan Tee Abdullah and Zamri Vinoth, as well as social media personality S Chandrasegaran, better known as Cikgu Chandra.

“(The individuals) could be educated by reading the published books, especially regarding Tok Guru Nik Aziz, who was a statesman and my idol,” Rayer said in an interjection to National Unity Minister Aaron Ago Dagang’s winding-up speech on Budget 2027.
