SEREMBAN: The Negri Sembilan government has gazetted the dismissal of two disputed Undang and the replacement of another customary leader aligned with their group, amid an ongoing dispute over the state's royal succession.
The gazette documents, signed by Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU) secretary Raja Norazli Raja Nordin, formalise the dismissals and appointments.
If upheld under the law and customary traditions, the move could weaken attempts by the group to challenge the position of Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan.
The gazette dated Oct 23 confirmed the dismissal of Datuk Mubarak Thahak as Undang of Sungei Ujong, effective May 13, 2025.
