KUANTAN: East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) passengers have been told to buy tickets only through authorised channels to avoid scams ahead of sales opening next month.
The ECRL, which will connect Kota Baru to the Gombak Integrated Transport Terminal via Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang and Selangor, will begin operations on Dec 12.
Pahang Consumer Affairs and Human Resources Committee chairman Sim Chon Siang said scammers might exploit the anticipated demand by offering tickets at unusually low prices, including on social media.
"We understand that many are eager to board the trains, but they should not be duped by individuals taking advantage of the situation. Some may offer discounted tickets to lure buyers, so passengers must remain vigilant.
