KUALA LUMPUR: Iran and Malaysia are developing practical programmes in cultural and halal tourism, heritage protection and handicrafts.
Iran's Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Ali Darabi, shared this in an exclusive interview with IRNA, according to TV BRICS.
The two countries are working to expand tourist and cultural exchanges, as well as participation in tourism events and exhibitions, Darabi said, after meeting Malaysia's Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing on the sidelines of the fourth session of the Asian Cultural Heritage Alliance in Hangzhou, China.
According to the official, protecting cultural heritage requires international cooperation in technical knowledge exchange, joint training and restoration based on scientific methods and recognised standards.
