KUALA LUMPUR: FA of Malaysia (FAM) president Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan was taken aback when questioned about the restructuring of the national football body's administration, amid reports that 22 staff members were affected.

Ghani, who was expecting questions about FAM's new title partners Yes and Ryt Bank following a strategic partnership signing ceremony, said the event was supposed to focus on the commercial agreement.

"Today is about YTL, suddenly questions are on other issues," he said when asked about the restructuring.

Ghani confirmed that the reports were true but clarified that most of the affected staff had their contracts not renewed rather than being dismissed.
