KUALA LUMPUR: A 55-year-old Malaysian chef was arrested in Mauritius after suspected cannabis worth 26.88 million Mauritian rupees (RM2.3 million ) was found concealed in his luggage on Oct 23.
The man was detained at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport after arriving on a flight from Dubai.
Mauritius news portal News Moris, quoting Defi Media, reported that police later attempted to identify the intended recipient of the drugs by replacing the seized substances with dummy packages in a sting operation.
But, the sting operation failed when nobody turned up to collect the packages.
