KUALA LUMPUR: Police have yet to decide on Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain's next posting after he returns to the force from his secondment as Malaysia Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA) director-general.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail said the appointment was made by the King, and any move to shorten his tenure would therefore require royal consent.

"If his appointment is to be shortened, it must receive the King's consent before he can be returned to the police force.

"Until that consent is granted, I am still waiting and cannot confirm his next posting. But he will certainly return to the police force as he is a police officer," he told reporters after the Jasamu Dikenang dinner organised by the Malaysian Ex-Police Association.
