SUPP president Dr Sim Kui Hian said See did not have to be a member of the party's Batu Lintang branch to contest the constituency, Borneo Post reported.

Sim pointed out that he was the Pending SUPP chairman but has represented Batu Kawah since 2016.

He said See's application to join SUPP, a Gabungan Parti Sarawak component, will be discussed by the party's central working committee, which only meets four times a year.
