KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians should not blame entire refugee communities for crimes or wrongdoing committed by individuals, said Datuk Ahmad Marzuk Shaary (PN-Pengkalan Chepa).

The Pas member of Parliament (MP) said refugees who broke the law should be investigated and prosecuted, but their actions should not be used to condemn the wider community.

"If they commit an offence, investigate them and bring them to court.

"But we should not punish an entire community because of one person's actions. A community should not bear the burden of one person's sins," he said.

He was speaking while debating the Parliamentary Select Committee's report on refugee management in the Dewan Rakyat.
