Executive councillor Zairil Khir Johari said the developer of Seaside Pocket Park in Tanjung Bungah, near the natural Sore Thumb promontory, has agreed to include two public access routes, sufficient parking spaces, and native coastal plants at the site.PETALING JAYA: The Penang government has defended the planned Seaside Pocket Park in Tanjung Bungah, saying the residents' concerns have largely been addressed through ongoing discussions with the developer.

Infrastructure, transport and digital committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari said the residents had been involved in discussions since December 2025, with most of their requests incorporated into the plan for the park.

Zairil said the developer, One Tanjong Management Corporation, had agreed to include two public access routes, sufficient parking spaces, and native coastal plants at a meeting on Oct 27.
