KUALA LUMPUR: The Economy Ministry has received 9,955 new and ongoing development project proposals costing RM944 billion for 2027.

The ministry said a RM80.4 billion development ceiling would be required for consideration under the 2027 development planning process.

"Under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) 2026-2030, ministries and agencies may submit applications for proposed development programmes and projects for consideration by the Economy Ministry through the rolling plan process," it said in a written parliamentary reply today.

The ministry was responding to Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodi (GPS-Sri Aman) on the mechanism used by the government to ensure every announcement of development projects is accompanied by clear allocations, implementation timelines, targets and responsible agencies.
