KOTA KINABALU: The media plays a crucial role as a strategic partner to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in ensuring the accurate and rapid dissemination of information to the public, thereby helping to safeguard the nation’s security and harmony.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun said close cooperation between the police and media practitioners not only helps the public understand law enforcement efforts but also prevents misunderstandings and negative perceptions that could compromise public order.
He noted that the effectiveness of any action or programme implemented by PDRM also depended on the media’s role in widely disseminating information to the public, particularly regarding security and crime prevention.
