KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 — Local cinema is back in the spotlight, with Kudrat 1968 leading the Malaysian box office after raking in RM12 million, putting it among the country’s biggest local film successes of 2026.

Its rise to the top has seen it move ahead of international releases Clayface and Jailer 2, which now occupy second and third place respectively, despite continuing to draw positive responses from Malaysian moviegoers.

The competition extends to streaming platforms, where Netflix’s Doctor X: Mafia in White continues to lead its most-watched rankings, followed by newly released South Korean series Dead-End Job in second place.

On other platforms, The Hidden Hand (Dia Perempuan Sialan) remains a popular title on Viu, while Between Steps continues to attract viewers on Disney+.
