Police arrested 13 suspects, including a Malaysian, after finding 21 suitcases containing 521kg of meth aboard a private plane which arrived at Luang Prabang International Airport on Oct 1.

PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian was among 13 people arrested in Laos after 521kg of methamphetamine was found in a private jet that arrived at Luang Prabang International Airport on Oct 1.

Bukit Aman narcotics crime investigation department director Hussein Omar Khan said the Learjet private plane had departed from Subang airport for Laos.

However, he said the Malaysian was not on the flight.

“So far, we have not received detailed information from the Laotian drug enforcement authorities. Based on the information we have right now, one of the 13 individuals detained is a Malaysian.
