KOTA KINABALU: The mother of the late Zara Qairina Mahathir knew that her daughter had tried vaping.
Noraidah Lamat, 46, told Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan that she had asked Zara about vaping after learning that some male pupils had brought vapes to school.
"I asked Zara about the matter and whether she was involved. At first, she said no, but when I asked her again, Zara admitted that she had tried it a little.
"From there, I knew that Zara had tried vaping," Noraidah said.
Under examination-in-chief by counsel Shahlan Jufri, Noraidah, the 82nd deponent, said she was initially not angry when questioning Zara.
