KUALA LUMPUR: The national hockey players are tired after playing in three consecutive international tournaments, ending with the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

The national players, who arrived from Japan on Tuesday morning, are currently playing for their respective clubs in the second round of the Malaysia Hockey League (MHL), which started on Monday.

The Speedy Tigers will next play in the Asian Champions Trophy (ACT) in Jalandhar and Mohali in Punjab, India, from Oct 27 to Nov 5.

National skipper Marhan Jalil said they have improved at the Asian Games by winning six matches to reach the final.

"It was unfortunate that we lost to world No. 8 India in the final.
