KUALA LUMPUR: More than 80 per cent of outstanding medical bills involving non-citizen patients involved undocumented migrants and stateless people.

Deputy Health Minister Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib said the ministry took seriously the outstanding bills involving non-citizen patients and the coordination between the ministry, Home Ministry and other enforcement agencies.

"Based on the ministry's analysis, more than 80 per cent was contributed by undocumented migrants and stateless people," she said when winding up the debate on the Auditor General's Report 2/2026 for the Health Ministry in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Although outstanding bills and receivables remain financial matters requiring serious attention, she said, the Health Ministry has recorded an overall decline in the amount.
