KUALA LUMPUR: The Housing and Local Government Ministry is assessing solutions to address structural problems at a RM23.7 million People's Housing Programme (PPR) project in Beaufort, Sabah.

Its minister, Nga Kor Ming, said the project, completed in 2017, remained unoccupied due to structural damage caused by ground movement.

"Our investigations, through the Public Works Department, found serious structural cracks in one terrace block comprising eight housing units.

"Five units in another block are experiencing moderate cracking caused by soil settlement, affecting the stability and structural integrity of the entire building," he said when winding up the debate on the Auditor-General's Report 2/2026 in the Dewan Rakyat today.
