KUALA LUMPUR: A former bank officer was fined RM36,000 by the Sessions Court today on six charges of failing to report receiving more than RM80,000 in bribes for personal loan financing.

Judge Rosli Ahmad imposed the sentence on Noor Iskandar Aziz, 45, and ordered him to serve six months' imprisonment if he failed to settle the fine.

According to the alternative charges, Iskandar was accused of receiving six cash deposits, totalling over RM80,000, into accounts belonging to himself and his wife, from two individuals and a company, CSA Infinite Consultancy.

The gratification was for assisting the personal loan financing applications of customers of CSA Academy Sdn Bhd at a bank, concurrently with the personal loan applications of customers at several other financial institutions.
