PETALING JAYA: The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) returned RM1.98 million to 239 investors in 2025 through enforcement action over violations of capital market laws, says finance minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan.

Amir said the SC's enforcement record last year also saw nine criminal convictions, with court-imposed fines totalling RM13.1 million.

"Through civil action, the courts also imposed civil penalties and recovered illicit gains amounting to RM2.1 million, while RM9.08 million was recovered through regulatory settlements," he was quoted as saying by Bernama during Ministers' Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat today.
