KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has agreed to take the necessary measures to address the worsening haze affecting Malaysia, following a call from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar said the haze situation was worrying and required action from both countries.
"Regarding the haze, the situation is indeed worrying. I have contacted President Prabowo, and he also agreed to take the necessary measures.
"At the same time, the Foreign Minister (Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan) and Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister (Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup) have also contacted their respective counterparts," he said.
He said this when met during the 2027 Budget Review Day at the Finance Ministry in Putrajaya today.
