Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the government will grant a full stamp duty exemption on loan agreements and instruments of transfer executed by approved contractors or developers appointed to revive abandoned housing projects and original purchasers of affected properties.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has proposed a full stamp duty exemption on loan agreements and transfer instruments for first homes priced at up to RM500,000.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said that for homes priced up to RM750,000, a full exemption will apply to the first RM500,000, with a 50% exemption on the remaining amount.

“These exemptions will apply to sale and purchase agreements executed from Jan 1, 2027, to Dec 31, 2030,” he said when tabling the 2027 budget in the Dewan Rakyat.
