The boy, also 16, made no plea after being charged at the Batu Pahat magistrates’ court as murder cases fall under the High Court’s jurisdiction, Harian Metro reported.
The murder charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code is punishable by the death penalty or 30 to 40 years in prison and whipping, upon conviction.
