KUCHING, Oct 16: A plaster ceiling collapsed inside a building at Everbright Park along Jalan Penrissen this afternoon after a leaking zinc roof.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received a call about the incident at 2.38pm today, after an initial report said a storm had torn off a roof.
However, when firefighters from the Padungan station arrived at the scene, they found no roof had been torn off. Instead, the incident involved a collapsed plaster ceiling inside the building, believed to have been caused by a leaking zinc roof.
The eight-member firefighting team conducted safety checks and monitored the area to ensure there were no further hazards.
