KUALA LUMPUR: Content creators, influencers and social media users should prioritise decorum, consideration and humanity when generating content, particularly regarding the latest situation involving Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said that while many were eager to know about the former prime minister's health status, not everything needed to be turned into news or social media content.
"Technology may evolve and we may hold differing views, but let us not use social media to the extent of losing our decorum, morals and humanity," he said in a video uploaded on X last night.
Fahmi urged all parties to give Dr Mahathir and his family space and time to grieve following the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.
