KUALA LUMPUR: The site featured in a viral video showing a questionable chicken slaughtering method is registered under a different entity, not Bhuiyen Sdn Bhd, the Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (Jakim) said.
Jakim director-general Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee said inspections found that the live chickens used in the operation were supplied by the company.
He said the preliminary findings followed intelligence gathering and inspections conducted by Jakim, the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, Health Ministry, Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department and Selangor Islamic Religious Department.
"Checks also found that the premises and chicken products slaughtered by the company did not have a Malaysian Halal Certification Certificate issued by Jakim or any state Islamic religious authority.
