LONDON: England's Ian Poulter and Tyrrell Hatton both announced Friday they had become the latest players to leave LIV Golf as the struggling breakaway league attempts a relaunch after filing for bankruptcy protection.

The 50-year-old Poulter, in a lengthy social media post, said it had been a "tough decision" to call time on his LIV career but that he would relish "the opportunity to spend more time at home with my family, reduce international travel, focus on senior golf and have the opportunity to pursue other interests."

Poulter's announcement that he is leaving the troubled LIV circuit came in the same week South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen announced his intention to return to the European tour next year.
