Form 6 students will receive more than RM800 in cost-of-living allowance from the government each semester. (Bernama pic)NIBONG TEBAL: The RM2,500 cost-of-living allowance for Form 6 students will be distributed over the three semesters in a year, says education minister Fadhlina Sidek.
Fadhlina said students will begin receiving their allowance in the first semester of next year, once they have completed their registration.
“The RM2,500 is for three semesters. That works out to slightly more than RM800 per semester,” she told reporters in Taman Widuri, Sungai Bakap, here.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the allowance when tabling the 2027 budget on Oct 9, saying it would benefit about 90,000 Form Six students nationwide.
