Ranau Hospital Crisis: Doctors Working 48 To 72 Straight Hours — Medical Officer

I am a medical officer (MO) currently practising in Ranau Hospital.

As of now, upon the permanent placements offered in September this year, from the initial 19 MOs who were just sufficient to run the hospital, we are left with eight of us running the whole hospital.

This includes handling the Male ward, Female ward, Paediatric ward, Obstetric and Gynaecology ward, Jabatan Pesakit Luar (JPL), Day Care, and the Emergency and Trauma Department (ETD).

In addition, should there be a case to attend in the Emergency Operation theatre, HD unit, or Forensic unit, we are also expected to do so.
