PENGERANG: A man has been remanded for seven days to assist in investigations into the murder of a settler with an axe at Felda Lok Heng Selatan.

Pengerang Sessions Court judge Hidayatul Syuhada Shamsudin ordered the 41-year-old suspect to be remanded until Nov 3 for investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The man, dressed in an orange lock-up uniform, arrived at the court about 9.45am under tight security.

Johor police chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad had said the suspect was arrested in an oil palm plantation in Kota Tinggi.
